This is a collection of links to sites that offer free downloads of Alaskan geographic data.

Climate Mapping with PRISM:
This Oregon State University site offers a rare collection of climate data for the United States.

Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment:
Download hydrologic data, location of hospitals, ZIP code boundaries, and other health and environment-related data for Colorado.

Countrywatch:
Peruse the large database of geopolitical data from all over the globe. Choose individual countries or regions.

EGRETS:
This site uses geographic data to help visitors better understand the people, land, and city of East St. Louis, Illinois. It is a wonderful example of neighborhood GIS on the Web.

Geography Network:
Search numerous map services and download extensive data sets that cover the entire world.

Georgia GIS Data Clearinghouse:
This site offers a very large collection of free data sets for Georgia, including comparison data from 1993 and 1999.

GIS.com:
This large portal site is your gateway to many GIS sites and data sources

GIS Data Depot:
This site contains more than a terrabyte of geographic data collected from GIS data sites on the Internet. Data sets may be downloaded for free or placed on custom CDs for a small fee.

InfoRain:
This site allows you to view live maps and download GIS data for the North American rain forest coast. It's a great example of using geographic information to illustrate the changing conditions of the environment.

Lake Tahoe Data Clearinghouse:
This USGS site allows download of a broad collection of geographic data for Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Louisiana's state-wide GIS atlas:
Browse and download from an impressive collection of raster and vector data for Louisiana.

Massachusetts GIS:
View and download digital orthophoto images for Massachusetts using the MIT browser.

Mesa County, Colorado, GIS:
View live maps and download free data for Mesa County, Colorado.

Missouri Spatial Data Information Service:
Download free GIS and census data for the state of Missouri.

Montana Natural Resource Information System:
Browse this extensive GIS data clearinghouse for the state of Montana.

National Atlas of the United States of America:
This United States Geographic Survey site lets you create custom maps of the people, places, and environment of the United States and to download selected data layers for free.

New Hampshire's GRANIT:
State-wide, regional and local New Hampshire data is available from this site.

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection:
View and download basemap and environmental data layers for New Jersey.

North Carolina Geographic Data Clearinghouse:
Choose from extensive data on political boundaries, census, cultural, recreational, infrastructure, water, environmental quality, air, elevation, land, and biological resources of North Carolina.

Ohio GIS Support Center:
Learn about the content and use of DLG, DRG, DOQQ, and DEM data and download data for Ohio.

Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access:

UCSB Remote Sensing Research Unit:
This site offers a comprehensive database for the coterminous United States which includes all types of managed areas, such as National Parks, Wilderness Areas, Wildlife Refuges, and Indian Reservations.

U.S. Census Bureau:
Extensive population and demographic data can be downloaded for all states and counties in the United States.
